To ensure this region continues to thrive, the State Planning Commission has developed the Far North Regional Plan to support sustainable growth and address the opportunities and challenges unique to the area.

Public consultation is now open and we’re eager to hear your insights on:

• Protecting the region’s unique biodiversity, from desert ecosystems to the wonders of Kati Thanda–Lake Eyre and Ikara-Flinders Ranges.
• Supporting key industries, including mining, renewable energy, and tourism.
• Addressing infrastructure and housing needs in remote communities like Coober Pedy and Roxby Downs.
• Improving access to essential services across the region.
• Building resilience to climate change.
