About the Code Amendment Register (the Register)

The Register is a record of Code Amendments that have an Initiation decision (approved or declined). It provides an overview of the Code Amendment, relevant documentation and the status of its progress through the assessment process.

About the Register

  • If a Code Amendment has not received an initiation decision, it will not be included in the register.
  • The Register includes historic records of Development Plan Amendments which were completed as Code Amendments.
  • The Register is updated each day, on an hourly basis.
  • The Register can be filtered and downloaded.
  • You can subscribe to be notified to receive updates on Code Amendments.
  • Clicking into the Code Amendment ID will provide further information about the code amendment, status and progress.

Form 1 information

  • The Register identifies whether a Code Amendment is relevant for the purposes of completing a  Form 1.
  • The Form 1 reference column will provide one of the following: Yes or No
    • Yes – the Code Amendment is released for consultation or consultation is continuing; or consultation has ended but the Code Amendment has not come into operation (policy live)
    • No – indicates that a Code Amendment has received initiation approval but has not yet progressed to consultation or that the Code Amendment has been implemented into the Planning and Design Code (in operation)

Code Amendment Status Bar

Each Code Amendment includes a high-level status bar identifying where the Code Amendment is in the assessment process.

Code Amendment Status

Meaning

Adopted (Implementation Pending)

The code amendment has received a decision by the Minister (adopted) but has not been implemented into the Planning and Design Code.

Altered and Adopted (Implementation Pending)

The code amendment has received a decision by the Minister (altered and adopted) but has not been implemented into the Planning and Design Code.

Code Amendment Progressing

The code amendment is under consideration. Further details can be found in the progress tab.

Declined (Determination)

The code amendment has been declined at the determination stage (after public consultation).

Declined (Initiation)

The code amendment has been declined at the initiation stage (has not undertaken public consultation).

Policy Live (dd/mm/yyyy)

The code amendment has received a decision and has been implemented into the Planning and Design Code. The date the policy was implemented is shown in the status.

Withdrawn

The code amendment has been withdrawn.

Progress tab

The progress tab reflects the stages and progress of a Code Amendment through the assessment process.

The progress tab is updated once a stage is activated or completed.

Progress Stage

Meaning

Initiation

Details the Initiation decision and decision date.

An initiation decision may include:

  • Approved
  • Declined
  • Approved - variation

Engagement

Details the start and end date of engagement period (multiple rounds of engagement will be represented if relevant).

Determination

Details the Ministers decision to adopt, alter and adopt, or decline to adopt a Code Amendment.

Where a Code Amendment is adopted or altered and adopted, it will be implemented into the Code in the next applicable Code update. As such, a Code Amendment may have a determination decision, but the implementation stage is pending.

Implementation

Details when a Code Amendment has been implemented into the Planning and Design Code, the policy is live and in operation.

Early commencement – Policy Live

  • Means that a Code Amendment has been approved to be implemented into the Code on an interim basis (12-month period).
  • Engagement, assessment and final determination is still required before the policy is final.

Final determination – Policy Live

  • Means that the Code Amendment is in the Planning and design Code and is in operation.
