Under the Planning, Development and Infrastructure Act 2016 Development Plans have been replaced by the Planning and Design Code. This came into effect on 19 March 2021 for urban areas, 31 July 2020 for rural areas, and 1 July 2019 for outback areas.
Although now revoked, the Development Plans are available for reference purposes, and may be used to assess any outstanding applications lodged under the Development Act 1993.
