Overview

The Rural City of Murray Bridge is proposing to rezone land on the western boundary of the city. The affected area consists of three key sites and are known as the Residential Growth Areas.

The three key sites are:

  • Area 1 West bounded by Adelaide Road, Old Swanport Road, Agricultural Drive, Zerna Avenue and Christian Road.

  • Area 1 East bounded by Bywaters Road, Brinkley Road and Commerce Road.

  • Area 2 bounded by allotments west of Bremer Road and Grassmere Drive, Greenlands Drive and Bremer Road.

This land was identified within the Residential Growth Areas Structure Plans report of 2015 and its subsequent review and update in 2021. It forms a significant part of council’s Future Cities program, seeking to ensure a sustainable future for the Murray Bridge community.

The proposal seeks to release land previously utilised for horticultural and agricultural land uses and allow for medium density residential development through the use of the Master Planned Township Zone provisions and concept plans.
