Overview

The Code Amendment rezoned 3.5 hectares from the Rural Zone and Rural Living Zone to the Employment Zone, to facilitate development of employment and related land uses to the north of the Port Wakefield township

The Designated Entity has indicated rezoning will facilitate development of a retail fuel outlet and truck refuelling area with associated service centre including fast food outlets, convenience store, car wash and dog wash.

Matters raised by the Native Vegetation Council, Department for Environment and Water and consultants in relation to the Wakefield River to maintain the quality and dispersal of stormwaters to the Gulf Saint Vincent and minimise flooding impacts have been addressed with the introduction of a Concept Plan that provides for a 50metre buffer to either side of the River.
