Overview

The objective of the Code Amendment is to rezone approximately 20 hectares of land on the western side of Freeling to allow for the growth of Freeling, consistent with the directions of the 30-Year Plan for Greater Adelaide and the Greater Adelaide Regional Plan.

The Code Amendment seeks to change the Rural Zone that currently applies to the land to the Suburban Neighbourhood Zone.

Whilst zoned Rural, the land is not located within the Environment and Food Production Area nor the Barossa Character Preservation District.

The Suburban Neighbourhood Zone envisages low density housing consistent with the existing local context and development pattern.
