Code Amendment ID: 10110 Inter-War Housing Heritage

The Inter-War Housing Heritage Code Amendment by the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters listed 19 Local Heritage Places together with the associated Heritage Adjacency Overlay, introduced the Historic Area Overlay and 11 Representative Building to portion of Heathpool, and made one minor rezoning. The Code Amendment will facilitate protection of dwellings constructed between the First and Second World Wars, and the Heathpool Historic Area Overlay will maintain the integrity of a highly intact precinct of high-quality Inter-war dwellings.

The Code Amendment affects land across the suburbs of Heathpool, Marryatville, St Peters, College Park, Hackney, Marden, Maylands and Royston Park and is consistent with Council’s Built Heritage Strategy 2022-2027, which includes an objective to identify additional Inter-war era buildings that may be worthy of heritage listing or additional protection (Objective 2.1: Protect key examples of Inter-war heritage).
