Code Amendment Type Third Party Code Amendment
Overview

The Code Amendment rezoned land at the north-eastern end of New Landing Way, Renmark, to enable the development of low-density residential housing. The affected area included seven privately owned allotments that were rezoned from the Tourism Development Zone to the Neighbourhood Zone with the Waterfront Subzone applied.

Four adjoining allotments owned by Crown Lands/SA Government were rezoned to the Conservation Zone to ensure the long-term protection of the River Murray corridor.

In addition, one Council-owned allotment forming part of Piccaninny Lagoon was rezoned to align with the zoning of the northern portion of the lagoon.

The Code Amendment was altered to apply the Significant Retirement Facility and Supported Accommodation Sites Overlay to the Neighborhood Zone, to align with the adoption of the state-led Accommodation Diversity Code Amendment.
