  • CT5891/61 - 577-599 Waterloo Corner Road, Waterloo Corner (Thomas Anastasios Papadopoulos, Magdalene Papadopoulos and Georgios Arharidis)

This is referred to as the Affected Area and covers 35ha. The Code Amendment seeks to rezone the Affected Area from Rural and Rural Horticulture to Employment and Strategic Employment to support a range of low-impact light industrial, commercial and business activities. The Affected Area is within a broader area known as Greater Edinburgh Parks which is identified in the Greater Adelaide Regional Plan (GARP) as a nationally significant employment cluster. The proposal is also aligned with the City of Salisbury’s desires for the future use of the land.

The Affected Area is proximate to a range of industrial and commercial enterprises, located away from sensitive uses such as residential development and is flat and able to accommodate larger floor plates, which is beneficial for commercial and industrial development. Further the Affected Area is considered no longer viable for primary production uses. The proposed rezoning will support economic activity in the north of Adelaide and align with a broad range of strategic planning objectives.

The Affected Area is contiguous to other Code Amendments occurring in the locality that have undertaken community consultation. The Proponent is committed to working with the adjacent landowners to progress the rezoning and to resolve matters such as traffic and stormwater.
