Overview

The Code Amendment rezoned 8.32 hectares of land comprising the Prospect Oval and Memorial Gardens, together with aged care and commercial properties fronting Main North Road, from the Established Neighbourhood Zone and Urban Corridor (Business) Zone to the Recreation Zone and Urban Corridor (Boulevard) Zone. The rezoning will facilitate retention and upgrade of existing recreation facilities and support higher density, mixed use development along the Main North Road corridor, up to a maximum of 12 storeys, stepping down towards the lower-density residential areas and other uses within the Established Neighbourhood Zone.
