Coast Park Stage Two Grange to Tennyson

Published Friday, 5 May 2023

In February 2022, the Minister for Planning and Local Government established a Linear Park along Adelaide’s coastline, from Grange to Tennyson following public consultation.

The Linear Park will include a shared-use path and will be established between Terminus Street, Grange and Bournemouth Street, Tennyson.

The establishment of the Linear Park follows careful consideration and detailed review of all submissions and feedback provided following notification of the proposal pursuant to the Linear Parks Act 2006 in 2021.

Following on from the establishment of the Linear Park the project team has developed a preliminary design for the Coast Park Path Stage Two pathway.

The preliminary design includes small sections of concrete pathway south of Terminus Street and Fort Street and north of Hallam Terrace. The remainder of the pathway connecting the concrete sections from Terminus Street to Hallam Terrace has been designed as boardwalk.

The sections of boardwalk and concrete have been designed to best suit the existing natural ground surface whilst minimising earthworks and impacts to the dune system and sensitive native vegetation.

The long plan (PDF, 13102 KB) shows the preliminary design for the pathway along with the concept design for the nodes at junctions between the pathway and existing beach access locations.
