Plans to create new suburb, Seacliff Heights

Published Friday, 19 May 2023

The Surveyor-General is seeking community feedback on a proposal to realign Seacliff Park, Seacliff and Marino suburb boundaries and create a new suburb named Seacliff Heights.

Creating the new suburb is being considered in response to the proposed ‘Seacliff Village’ residential and commercial development, which includes areas of land in Seacliff Park, Seacliff and Marino.

The new suburb would include this development, as well as existing homes and businesses south of Ocean Boulevard in Seacliff Park.

The proposed name ‘Seacliff Heights’ reflects the site’s topography and would create a unique identity for a new and growing community.

It would also remove any confusion caused by Seacliff Park being located on both sides of Ocean Boulevard, particularly for emergency services and deliveries.

This proposal was developed in consultation with the City of Marion and City of Holdfast Bay and reflects community feedback on a smaller suburb boundary realignment and renaming proposal in November 2022.

If approved, existing residents and business owners in the new suburb of Seacliff Heights would need to update their address with a number of agencies and organisations.

The community is invited to submit their feedback on the proposed suburb boundary changes by 18 June.

Community feedback will be considered by the Surveyor-General in his recommendations to the Minister for Planning, the Hon Nick Champion MP.
