Through the South Australian Government's Housing Roadmap and the establishment of the new Department for Housing and Urban Development, the government is fast-tracking land release to create more homes for more South Australians.
The new department combines planning with housing and urban development, public housing and SA Water to better coordinate these critical areas and allow new homes to be constructed as quickly as possible.
The government is also expediting the planning process, directly delivering new housing, tackling infrastructure challenges currently limiting development, and bolstering skills in the construction and planning systems.
With greater investment into housing than ever before, the government will work with private industry – the developers, builders, planners and tradies – to make housing and home ownership more accessible, flexible, and readily available for more South Australians.
