This practice direction sets out matters related to the assessment, approval and publication of building envelope plans. Once a building envelope plan is published, it gives effect to policies in the Planning and Design Code that reference such plans.

About this document
The object of this practice direction is to specify the criteria for assessment, approval and publication of a building envelope plan in accordance with the Act and the Regulations, and as referred to in the Planning and Design Code.
The State Planning Commission issues practice directions to specify procedural requirements in connection the Planning, Development and Infrastructure Act 2016.
