This practice direction is about land division in Environment and Food Production Areas (EFPAs), usually land bordering the Greater Metropolitan Area.

This practice direction supports EFPAs identified under section 7 of the Act and says that additional allotments created in these areas cannot be used for residential purposes.

The State Planning Commission issues practice directions to specify procedural requirements in connection the Planning, Development and Infrastructure Act 2016.
