Pay the Certificate of Occupancy fee - online

On validation of your Certificate of Occupancy (CoO) application by the issuing relevant authority (being the council) a ‘Lodgement Fee Advice’ email notification is sent advising a payment is required to progress the certificate.

When the CoO is being issued by an accredited professional (as the relevant authority) you will receive an invoice from them directly for payment.

View the Certificate of Occupancy fee advice

  1. Click on the Certificate of Occupancy Application link within the email notification.
  2. Login using your account details (if not already logged in).

    The Certificate of Occupancy screen displays with a Pay Fee Advice option.

  3. Click on Fees tab to view the Fee Advice.

Print the Certificate of Occupancy fee advice

  1. Click on the Fee AdviceAwaiting Payment record to expand and view the details.
  2. Click on the Fee Advice document linkto download.
  3. Click on the download to open and view on-screen.
  4. Print the Fee Advice (as required) and return to the Fees screen to pay the fee advice.

Pay the Certificate of Occupancy fee advice

Alternative options for paying the ‘Fee Advice’ are available via the PlanSA online payment or the Batch Payment option available within the ePlanning platform (only volume applicants - e.g. builders, developers, surveyors). Refer to the performing a batch fee payment (PDF, 1925 KB) instructions.

  1. Click on Pay Fee Advice or Make Payment to commence payment.
  2. Click on the outstanding fee advice and then Pay Invoice to proceed.
  3. Click on Pay with credit card.
  4. The payment session will open. Enter your credit card details and select Pay Now... to confirm.

    Important!
    Do not close your browser or navigate away from the payment session without completing your payment or selecting Cancel.

  5. A Receipt of payment screen will display to confirm the payment was successful. If the payment was not successful; a Declined screen will appear
  6. To view the payment receipt number, open the Fees tab and select the applicable paid fee.
  7. Click Done to complete the action.

After a successful payment, the Certificate of Occupancy screen displays with the status updated to ‘Awaiting Decision’.

Print the tax invoice

On payment of the Fee Advice a Tax Invoice is generated and an email sent advising the ‘Invoice payment successful for the Certificate of Occupancy’.

  1. In the payment successful email, click on the ‘Documents’ link.

    Alternatively, click on the Fee AdvicePaid record to expand and view the details.

  2. Expand the Fee Advice to view more details.
  3. Click on the relevant Fee Advice document link (invoice and/or receipt)to download.
  4. Click on the download to open and view on-screen.
  5. Print the Tax Invoice (as required).
  6. Return to Your Applications screen or sign out.
