Code Amendment ID: 10081 Old Sturt Highway, Nuriootpa

The objective of the Code Amendment was to apply a more appropriate zone to three (3) allotments on the fringe of Nuriootpa on Old Sturt Highway that were isolated when the Sturt Highway was realigned. The allotments were zoned Rural as prior to the realignment they were associated with larger agricultural holdings on the northern side of the realigned Highway. The allotments that form the Area Affected are vacant and are 1.184 square metres in total.

The Code Amendment applies the Employment Zone, having regard to the non-suitability of the allotments for agricultural purposes given their size, shape and isolation, the pattern of zoning to the south of Old Sturt Highway, the location of the allotments directly adjacent to the realigned Highway, and a previous approval granted by Light Regional Council to develop service trade premises on the allotments.

The Employment Zone will allow for a range of low-impact light industrial, commercial and business activities.
