Eyre and Western Regional Plan

Closed 7 May 2025, 5:00 pm

The Eyre and Western region stretches over 230,000 square kilometres, from the arid landscapes in the far northwest to the southern coastline. This area is home to national parks, 2,000 kilometres of remote beaches, and around 250 offshore islands. Known for its marine experiences, including whale watching, swimming with sea lions, and cage diving with great whites, the region is one of the state’s fastest-growing destinations for eco-tourism.

The Eyre and Western Regional Plan provides a framework for land use, infrastructure, and environmental management over the next 30 years to support sustainable growth. It addresses challenges related to remoteness and the need for reliable connections between communities and services.
