The Certificate of Occupancy (CoO) is issued by the council or the building certifier (who assessed and issued building consent).
The process of applying for and issuing the CoO can be completed by both the applicant and the council (or building certifier) from their applicable dashboards.
Applicants can apply for a CoO by using the ‘Apply for a Certificate of Occupancy’ action from within the Your Applications dashboard.
Throughout the process of validating and issuing the CoO, further actions will need to be completed:
- Upload missing documents and the fire report (where applicable).
- Pay the CoO fee.
